Toronto Blue Jays right fielder George Springer was removed from Monday’s starting lineup due to a viral illness, the team announced.
The 33-year-old is hitting .225 in 111 at-bats this season, with three homers and 10 RBI. He will be replaced in right field by Cavan Biggio.
Bo Bichette has been moved to the lead-off spot and Biggio will hit eighth behind catcher Danny Jansen.
The Blue Jays will have Jose Berrios on the hill for the first of four games at Fenway Park against the Boston Red Sox.
